On May 15th, 2019 with beautiful weather, 26 EMBA students and teachers of University of Alberta, Canada and international friends gathered at the Beijing Peace Garden to participate in the 2019 Peace Garden Seminar of University of Alberta IR Research Center held by Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, Belt.china.org.cn and University of Alberta.

Dr. Li Ruohong, President of China World Peace Foundation accompanied the EMBA delegation of University of Alberta to visit the Beijing Peace Garden Museum-a converge for international peace cause, public welfare and charity. Those students were deeply attractive by 60 excellent works of “Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads” Youth International Photo Contest and Peace Stone and praised the fruitful results of international public welfare with great value in people-to-people and cultural and economic exchanges among different countries. They actively took photo with those photographs and stones.

Eddie Wong, President of EMBA delegation of University of Alberta introduced the history and R&D of the Business School and its strength in Academia and Industries. University of Alberta has led EMBA Student Delegation to visit Peace Garden since 2008 and established University of Alberta IR Research Center.
Dr. Li Ruohong pointed out that with uncertainties and hot spot issues in the international community, we should pay attention to the permitted policy extent and difference on core interests of targeted countries and regions, IPR protection and infrastructure update. He also suggested the EMBA students to make communications and credit cooperation when dealing with debt and trade balance and to develop professional technologies.

More than 20 EMBA students are elites from different fields, including AI, Modern Logistics, Medicine R&D and so on. They like China and are willing to promote the bilateral friendship and peace cause through the University of Alberta IR Research Center. They pay attention to China’s social, economic and cultural development and the focuses of international cooperation and raised their questions by combing their industries and the current situation of China. Pro. Mercus interpreted the new landscape of China’s Reform and Opening up and its current development from a perspective of foreign expert, saying that China’s green and sustainable development is the new normal of its economic upgrade.Mr. Noah Fraser, China Regional Director of the Canad China Business Council analyzed that the trade frictions between China and the North America have limited influence on China’s enterprises by surveys and data. Only 20 % of the Chinese enterprises is influence by those frictions. Canad China Business Council is committed to provide services for entrepreneurs to know China’s market better.

During the Seminar, Dr. Li answered questions by the EMBA students and gave some hints for the future development of culture, education, science and technology, social responsibility and the University of Alberta IR Research Center from the perspective of China’s NGOs’ roles in “BRI”, the foundation’s philosophy of “Peace + 1”and “4 Driving Froces ”( Think Tank, Themed Culture, International Public Welfare and Industry Coalition). Pro. Marcus and Noah Fraser also had discussions with the EMBA students.

This seminar has reached fruitful results. China World Peace Foundation also prepared the classical program of Chinese art, which around their interest in Chinese culture and art and they said they are willing to deepen the bilateral cooperation and and exchanges and to promote China’s public welfare at home and abroad.
