Good afternoon!

Firstly, on behalf of the undertaker the Belt and Road official website of china.com.cn, I would like to express my friendly greetings and heartfelt tribute for the grand opening of the 4th Peace Garden Peace Festival. Secondly, I would like to take this opportunity to deliver my sincere thanks to China World Peace Foundation and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation for its long-standing cooperation with and great support for china.com.cn. 

In the past June, together with China World Peace Foundation, Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and UNESCO, we successfully organized an expert meeting on an interactive cultural atlas of cultural interactions along the Silk Roads, thus co-initiating the project of cultural atlas. This is a major advancement of the Belt and Road initiative across the whole world. 

Since President Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road initiative in 2013, the circle of friends has been expanding, winning positive response and extensive participation from over 100 countries and international organizations. Major advancement of the initiative has been witnessed in terms of the operation of the Silk Road Fund, the development of high-speed train and trade and the connectivity of policy and people’s heart. 

In the development of world civilization, the role of media can never be ignored. As a multi-lingual, multi-media international communication platform, china.com.cn boasts coverage of more than 200 countries and regions around the globe; it is a new type of main-stream media that is dedicated to telling a vivid Chinese story with a convincing Chinese voice. The website is an integral part of efforts to connect China with the world and to promote the connectivity of policy, road, trade, currency and people’s heart. In the future, we still stand ready to use the platform to advance the building and operation of the community of shared future for the humankind. 

Going forward, the Belt and Road official website of china.com.cn will identify the following three tasks as priorities. 

1.Furnish a vigorous decision-making reference and intellectual support for Chinese businesses to go global with the think-tank the website builds. The Belt and Road initiative provides a much-cherished opportunity for Chinese enterprise to explore foreign market and countries along the route have become a favorite for Chinese investors. However, due to the difference in politics, economy, culture and investment environment, the risks for Chinese companies to go abroad are constantly on the rise. Silk Road Fund, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), China Development Bank and other financial institutions provide strong financial support for the Belt and Road initiative with an innovative financing approach. We help the companies to respond quickly in integrating with the projects, establish interactions between entrepreneurs and think-tank experts, organize Chinese and foreign experts to do business research and risk assessment report, thus providing a safety net for Chinese investors. 

2.Create a Belt and Road think-tank alliance publicity platform, accelerate the internationalization of the think tank alliance, and expand the circle of friends of the think tank alliance. We have signed a strategic cooperation agreement with some globally renowned research institutions on the Belt and Road on working closely with the think-tank experts, interpreting and commenting on the world's hot-spot issues, thus giving full play to the role of communication and publishing platform of think-tank. We strive to build the website into a treasure-house and distributing center of the Belt and Road ideology. 

3.Develop the Belt and Road Ambassador Interview program. The connectivity of people’s heart is the foundation of the Belt and Road initiative, as Xi Jinping once pointed out: the exchange between countries lies in the affinity of their people and the connectivity of people’s heart. The Belt and Road Ambassador Interview program initiated by the Belt and Road official website of china.com.cn is dedicated to building a bridge and bond for the friendly exchanges among countries and peoples, and instantly promoting diplomatic envoys’ understanding of the Belt and Road initiative, thus strengthening and deepening the understanding and friendship between peoples for a win-win cooperation and a positive involvement in the Belt and Road initiative.
